Modern automotive expertise, old-school service
Established in 1989 by Col Harrison, our workshop has looked after West Ryde families and businesses for more than 35 years, built on honest advice, quality workmanship and genuine care.
In 2025 the business entered a new chapter under owner Josh Hallinan, who grew Col’s Body Shop from a small local repairer into one of Sydney’s leading collision businesses. That same focus on systems, customer experience and doing the right thing now drives Col Harrison Automotive.
We do not see ourselves as just mechanics. We are trusted advisors. If a repair can wait, we will tell you. If something does not need doing, we will say so.

Pink Slips & Inspections, answered honestly
In NSW, a pink slip (eSafety inspection) is required to renew registration on most vehicles more than five years old. If you are unsure, call us with your rego details and we will let you know.
You have 14 days to have the faults repaired and the car re-inspected. We can carry out the repairs here and re-check it, so you do not need to go anywhere else.
A standard inspection takes around 30 to 45 minutes. Book ahead and we will have you in and out without a long wait.
Just your vehicle and your registration papers or rego number. We submit the result electronically to the RMS, so it is linked to your renewal automatically.
Pink slip fees for light vehicles are set by the NSW Government, so the inspection price is fixed. If any repairs are needed to pass, we will quote those separately before starting.
